Apex Civil Construction was engaged by the client to extend and re-construct the athletics D’area at Tom Kelly Athletics Track in Doncaster, Victoria. The project consisted of works to the hurdle, pole vault and long jump landing pit. The major part of the works focussed on an extension of the D’area. The services we provided for this project included demolition and excavation, stormwater drainage and pavement concrete and asphalt works.

Demolition and Excavation:
– demolition of existing spoon drain
– demolition and removal of western runway in pole vault area
– excavation to subgrade level
– preparation of subgrade
– geotextile and geogrid composite installation
– construction of new spoon drain
– demolition and refurbishment of long jump landing put including the removal and reinstatement of exisiting sand

Stormwater Drainage:
– adjustments to exisiting drainage system
– custom modification to extend existing drainage grate

Pavements & Concrete Works:
– asphalting of 110m hurdle area and D’area
– concrete edge strip
